At a critical moment in time when there are more displaced people than ever before, CARAD continues to step in as the only organisation in the state to provide holistic, ongoing support to people seeking asylum.
CARAD clients are often denied work and study rights and are also restricted from various social supports such as Centrelink and Medicare, resulting in severe financial hardship and acute and chronic vulnerability. CARAD has worked to find its clients safe housing, food, and healthcare since 2000 and is often referred to within the humanitarian sector as' the service provider of last resort'.
